Soapstone

Soapstone, or steatite, is a natural metamorphic rock rich in talc, known for its excellent heat resistance and
even heat distribution. Traditionally used in Alpine regions like Valmalenco, it has long been valued for cooking
applications. This plate is ideal for grilling meat, fish, vegetables, or for serving food while keeping it warm. Its slow, uniform heating enhances flavor and texture, often resulting in softer, tastier dishes. Naturally non-
stick, it allows for cooking without added fats or oils.

The optional stainless steel handles make it easy to transport and adapt to various cooking settings. Suitable
for gas stoves, ovens, or open flames (with proper precautions), it’s a versatile and durable tool for both
home and professional use.

Cleaning is simple: use a cloth and warm water, avoiding detergents and sudden temperature changes. Over
time, the plate develops a natural patina, adding character without affecting performance.
